Reimagining Healthcare: Pioneering Solutions for a Healthier Tomorrow
March 7 – 8, 2025 / ISB, Hyderabad Campus

HackFest 2025 is more than just a hackathon, it’s a platform to solve real-world healthcare challenges. By bringing together healthcare professionals, technologists, students, and startups, this event aims to bridge the gap between healthcare needs and innovative solutions. Over the course of this transformative event, participants will ideate, prototype, and present solutions that can make a lasting impact on the healthcare ecosystem.
Focus Areas
Digital Health

Women’s Health: Solutions addressing maternal health, menstrual health, or fertility.
Problems under Women's Health
W1. Enhancing Menstrual Health for Tribal Girls through Digital Innovations
Tribal communities often face limited access to menstrual health education and resources. How can we leverage digital platforms—apps, SMS-based tools, or wearable tech to educate, track, and improve menstrual health outcomes for tribal girls while ensuring privacy and accessibility?
W2. Faster Mother-Newborn Reunion Post-Delivery
After childbirth, delayed mother-newborn bonding can impact breastfeeding initiation and emotional well-being. Design a solution to ensure mothers are reunited with their newborn within 30 minutes of normal delivery and 2 hours after a cesarean section, streamlining postnatal workflows and communication between departments.
W3. Postpartum Depression Support App
Many new mothers struggle with postpartum depression without adequate support. Create a mood-modifying mobile app that uses AI-driven chatbots, counseling resources, and self-care activities to identify, monitor, and provide timely mental health interventions.
W4. Menstrual Health: UTI Prediction Using pH Strips
Women are more susceptible to urinary tract infections (UTIs) during certain phases of their menstrual cycle. Design a pH strip-based monitoring system that helps users predict potential UTI risks during the oestrous phase, along with personalized hygiene and preventive recommendations.
W5. At-Home Fertility Diagnostics (FSH & LH Monitoring)
Women often lack convenient access to ovulation prediction tests. Develop an at-home diagnostic solution to analyze FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone) levels, empowering users to accurately track their fertility windows without frequent lab visits.

Remote Diagnostics: Innovations in telemedicine, wearable technology, and remote monitoring.
Problems under Remote Diagnostics
R1. Telemedicine for Remote Clinical Trial Consent & Evaluation
Participating in clinical trials often requires multiple hospital visits, deterring many potential participants. Create a telemedicine platform that enables remote consent, virtual evaluations, and follow-ups, making clinical trial participation more accessible and efficient.
R2. Wearable Tech for Home-Based Health Monitoring
Patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy often experience complications that require constant monitoring. Develop a wearable sensor-based solution to track urine flow capacity and cardiac health at home, ensuring early detection of issues and timely medical intervention.
R3. Remote Monitoring of Maternal and Neonatal Habits
Ensuring adherence to healthy habits and breastfeeding practices among new mothers can be challenging post-discharge. Build a remote monitoring solution - app, wearable, or smart device - that tracks breastfeeding patterns, maternal well-being, and adherence to postnatal care routines.

Elderly Care: Technologies to improve quality of life for the aging population.
Problems under Elderly Care
E1. Medication Adherence for Older Adults
Many older adults forget to take their medications on time, increasing health risks. Develop a smart solution - be it a mobile app, wearable reminder, or voice-assisted tool - that ensures timely medication adherence while offering caregiver alerts if doses are missed.
E2. Fall Detection & Rapid Response for Older Adults
Falls among older adults at home often go unnoticed, leading to delayed medical intervention. Create a solution using wearable sensors, home automation, or AI-based monitoring systems that can detect falls and instantly alert caregivers or emergency services.
Value Chain Optimization

Improving efficiency in hospital processes, including patient flow, diagnostics, supply chain management, and administrative workflows.
Problems under Value Chain Optimization
V1. End-to-End Digital Medication Tracking System
Medication management in healthcare facilities is often fragmented, leading to errors and inefficiencies. Design a digital solution that tracks medications from the moment they are received (Goods Receipt Note - GRN) to when they are administered to patients, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and seamless inventory management.
V2. Digital Consent Management Solution
V2. Digital Consent Management Solution Obtaining and managing patient consent for medical procedures, data sharing, and clinical trials can be cumbersome and non-compliant with regulations. Build a user-friendly, secure digital consent management system that aligns with India’s legal frameworks and ensures patient clarity and transparency.
V3. Simplifying Navigation in Large Hospital OPDs
Hospital outpatient departments (OPDs) can be confusing for patients, causing delays and frustration. Develop an easy-to-use navigation tool, such as a mobile app or digital kiosk, to guide patients through the hospital, showing real-time queues, appointment locations, and departmental routes.
V4. Simplifying Insurance Approvals for Inpatient Care
Insurance approvals for inpatient care can be complex, delaying admissions and treatment. Build a solution that helps patients, caregivers, and hospital staff coordinate insurance pre-authorizations, track claim statuses, and ensure faster approvals in real-time.
